Change starts with people who refuse to accept what should not be normal.”

Start a campaign for health fairness

Too many communities are forced to live with barriers, neglect, and unfair conditions that harm health. PHP helps turn those realities into public action. If your community is facing a health fairness issue, we may be able to help transform it into a campaign for change.

*You do not need formal advocacy experience to reach out. If you are close to an issue and want to help move it forward, we want to hear from you.

What it takes to launch a campaign

Each new campaign participates in a 6-week remote training and strategy intensive designed to help teams move from ideas to organized action. Through a collaborative cohort model, participants gain practical tools for building community power, developing effective campaigns, and advancing health justice initiatives in their local communities.

AMERICAN COMMUNITY HEALTH REVIEW

Community Health Impact Reports examine a health fairness issue, identify the populations affected, and explain why addressing the issue is important for improving health outcomes and fairness. Community Health Leadership Reports are practice-based case studies that document a community health advocacy campaign, highlighting implementation strategies, outcomes, successes, challenges, and lessons learned. These two reports come together to create the American Community Health Review, a publication that functions as peer-learning and knowledge-sharing platform that capture community-defined health priorities and practice-based evidence from health fairness advocacy campaigns.

What happens after you reach out:

  1. We listen.
We learn what your community is facing and what feels most urgent.

  2. We shape the story.
If the issue is a fit, PHP may help develop it into a public-facing issue campaign.

  3. We build toward action.
Together, we work to turn community voice into pressure, visibility, and advocacy.

*Campaigns take time, iteration, and collaboration. Not all campaigns will achieve policy change, but progress and learning are valued.
